Break the tedious tagging barrier
Jimmy Wales' idea of a user-centred search engine is cool but how does he want to get people to do the tedious work of tagging? It's one thing to write a Wikipedia article but I would only tag and rank sites in self-interest. A neat and playful alternative for getting people to tag comes once again from idea forge Google: in the Image Labeler you get connected to a randomly selected other user in real time. Then you will see a series of pictures and have to try to find the same term for each of them as your partner - in a certain time. For every successfully tagged picture you get points and at the end you see a ranking. As simple as this is, it's really fun! Unfortunately only in English.
